Drafting Tables
Drafting
tables are functional furniture pieces which are used for
professional applications such as for the work of architects,
graphic artists and designers, engineers and city planners.
Basically, they are used by any professional who requires a solid
base to be able to draw, sketch or design plans or prints.
However, because of the wide variety of available tables in the
market, with their prices ranging from around $100 to thousands of
dollars, deciding on which drafting table to get might pose as a
bit of a challenge. And so, here are some basic tips you could use
when selecting which drafting table would suit your
requirements.
As you start your search for the perfect table, the first
consideration you need to take would be space. Assess the size and
the layout of the office or room where you would be using it in.
For instance, if you would be using it in your home office, you
would probably be needing a smaller sized drafting tables compared
to the one that you have at your studio or office.
The size is also important as you consider what kind of
work you would be doing on it as well as how often you would be
using it. If you would be using it occasionally for smaller
projects, then a small or a medium-sized drafting table would
probably suffice. However, if you do some complex engineering or
architectural projects, then a large drafting table with many
features might be best.
The second thing to consider would be what you would be
specifically using the table for like if you do a lot of work
creating graphics and if you would be sitting a lot, then a small
drafting table could work well and there would probably be no need
for you to get a table with an adjustable top.
However, if you have a job that would require you to stand and
sit as you work, then a larger drafting table that comes with an
adjustable tabletop will be best for your needs. These tables
usually have a pedal which can be controlled by foot which releases
the top so it could easily be adjusted.
